Volunteer to Help Seniors in Need in Seminole County, FL

About Volunteering
Volunteer to help seniors in need in Seminole County, FL, with Meals on Wheels, Etc. Seniors in our community often need a helping hand, creating numerous opportunities for you to make a real impact. Whether you’re delivering meals to their homes, assisting at neighborhood dining sites, lending a hand in our kitchen, or supporting fundraising events and Christmas Day meal deliveries, every role is crucial.
These efforts help combat hunger and isolation for seniors during the later stages of their lives. If you’re handy with tools or enjoy working with your hands, you can also volunteer your skills for home improvements and other daily chores that seniors may struggle with.

Ways You Can Volunteer
There are many ways to contribute your time, talent, and compassion to assist our seniors. Here are some of the programs and opportunities available:
Home-Delivered Meals
If you have transportation, we need volunteers to deliver meals. This rewarding task involves picking up meals from one of our local distribution sites and delivering them to seniors across Seminole County. Each route serves 8 to 12 clients and takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete.
Available: Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and noon.
Neighborhood Dining (Currently on Hold)
If you enjoy crafts, games, or interacting with others, volunteering at one of our neighborhood dining sites may be the perfect fit. Help serve meals, teach a skill, or share stories with clients.
Available: Monday-Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Home Chores
If you like working outdoors, we need volunteers or teams to assist seniors with home maintenance tasks like yard work, pressure washing, and grab bar installation.
Scheduling: Dates and times are determined on a case-by-case basis.
Kitchen/Food Prep (Currently on Hold)
If cooking excites you, kitchen volunteers are essential in packaging meals for delivery to seniors in our community. Kitchen shifts generally last four hours (8:00 am to noon). All volunteers must wear gloves, hairnets (provided), and closed-toe non-slip shoes.
